I have been a news photojournalist in New York City for 10 years and have been looking for stories to inspire, excite and provide a look into different types of existence. After a decade I found one, a project I call "AIDS: Before the Cocktail". It is a portrait and text book which will share the thoughts and feelings of people who became sick with an unknown and unacknowledged disease that had no treatment and offered little hope for so many.
After Hurricane Sandy hit the New York area and changed so many lives I began to look deeper into the loss that occurred in Breezy Point, NY where hundreds of homes burned and left a neighborhood devistated by the storm. I learned much about shelter, sentiment and loss during my research.
